Organize Medical Research Studies
The American College of Radiology Imaging Network collects, organizes and publishes medical studies for a variety of modalities and uses custom CMS solution to manage it all.
Challenge:
Allow doctors, researchers and patients to search and access medical studies in a systematic and organized manor. Allow for the publishers of these studies to categorize, store, and approve the studies for world-wide distribution.
Solution:
The solution chosen needed to be highly dynamic and data-driven. It needed a flexible, robust, permissions based content management system.
The leading .net CMS was chosen. Dotnetnuke served a a base framework for the content.
A specific administrative interface was developed for categorizing, storing and publishing the studies. Studies began pouring into the CMS.
The data model that was created and the data going into the system provided the architectural landscape we could use when designing the client search interface.
Using modern techniques that were little known at the time like AJAX and partial screen rendering we were able to provide a responsive and useful public engine to find and access the reports quickly and efficiently.
